How does the Alma Hybrid™ laser work?

The Alma Hybrid™ laser combines two powerful energy sources for precise and effective skin treatments. This advanced system works with two highly effective basic energies: the CO₂ laser and the 1570 nm Er:Glass laser. The CO₂ laser enables fractional or high-precision ablative treatments, working through a combination of ablative, coagulative, and thermal effects. Meanwhile, the non-ablative 1570 nm laser penetrates deeply into the skin, stimulating collagen production in the dermis without harming the epidermis.

What happens during treatment with Alma Hybrid™?

For laser treatment, the skin in the areas we are targeting must be clean and free of cosmetics. We typically apply a local anaesthetic cream before the treatment to numb the relevant skin areas and ensure the process is as painless as possible. Once prepared, we use the Alma Hybrid™ laser.

After the session, you should keep the treated areas dry and cover them with a plaster. Aftercare should include regularly applying an antiseptic cream. Avoid sunlight and tanning beds until the wound has fully healed. You should also use sun protection on the treated skin area at all times for the best results.

What are the risks and side effects?

After the treatment, the treated areas may become slightly red or irritated, but these effects subside quickly. In rare cases, laser treatment may trigger allergic reactions. We minimise this risk through a thorough consultation beforehand.

Proper skincare after the procedure helps protect and soothe the skin.

FAQs – Frequently asked questions

Although treatment with the Alma Hybrid™ laser is very powerful and effective, it is incredibly comfortable and, with the right preparation, virtually painless. The anaesthetic cream or injection makes the treatment even less painful. The device also has a cooling plate that touches the skin where the laser beam hits, so patients usually only feel a slight tingling sensation.

The treatments are individually tailored to the patient and the indications. As a rule, a treatment lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, including treatment preparation.

Many patients achieve excellent results after just one treatment. This treatment can also be carried out more frequently to maintain skin quality and control pigmentation. Up to five treatments may be necessary for deep skin changes and scars.

The downtime for this advanced laser treatment is very short, ranging from zero to seven days depending on the settings. Redness, swelling and tightness may occur immediately after the treatment, but these effect usually only last for about a week and can be easily treated with medical aftercare products.
