How does Soprano™ laser hair removal work?

Thanks to an innovative combination of different laser wavelengths and technologies, we can now achieve the best possible clinical hair removal results quickly and conveniently. This method converts light into heat. Short, rapid pulses penetrate deep into the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin) to generate an effective build-up of heat. Unlike other lasers, the Soprano™ delivers lower energy pulses at precisely timed intervals. This gradual heating minimises stress on the treated areas. The Soprano™ laser gradually heats the dermis with narrow beams of light, damaging the hair roots and causing hair follicles to die, preventing new hair from growing. The treatment is gentle on the surrounding tissue.

The Soprano™ Laser’s innovative features make it suitable for almost all skin types. Even people with lighter hair tones or darker skin types – which are more sensitive to laser treatment due to melanin – can safely undergo this procedure. Unlike conventional hair removal lasers, Soprano™ targets both the pigments and the proteins beneath the hair roots, damaging them and preventing future hair growth.

What happens during treatment with Soprano™?

First, you undress at the area you want to be treated. We then steadily move the laser handpiece over the area to be treated, ensuring complete coverage. The Soprano™’s patented laser technology ensures that the treatment is safe and virtually pain-free. Simultaneous contact cooling using cold sapphire glass minimises the risk of superficial burns. This cooling of the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin) further reduces discomfort.

Each session lasts between 5 and 25 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Individual hairs will be in different stages of the growth cycle at any given time, so several sessions (typically four to six) are required for permanent hair removal.

The Soprano™ has patented laser technology that ensures the treatment is virtually pain-free. In addition, the upper layer of skin is cooled during treatment, making hair removal even less painful.

Depending on the skin type, four to six sessions at intervals of four to six weeks are usually required for effective and long-lasting results.

You will usually notice a steady decrease in hair growth after each session. The hair gradually falls out along with the hair roots. The hair-free result is typically achieved within six to twelve months and can be permanent. In some cases, a follow-up treatment for individual areas may be recommended after a few years.

You should stop waxing, epilating, and plucking your hair at least three weeks before treatment. From this point onwards, only shave the areas to be treated, as the hair root is the target structure for the laser. Ideally, shave the area the evening before the treatment. On the day of the treatment, avoid applying cosmetic products to the areas to be treated (such as deodorant, body lotion, etc.). The area should not be tanned. After the treatment, make sure to care for the skin thoroughly. Avoid sun exposure and always use sun protection with SPF 50.

Patients can return to their everyday lives and normal activities immediately afterwards. There is no downtime.
