Method

How does the BURANE® laser treatment work?

The BURANE® laser plays a key role in aesthetic dermatology, where its 2940 nm wavelength and high precision make it ideal for skin rejuvenation, renewal, and the removal of pigmented or superficial lesions. Unlike conventional CO2 lasers, the Erbium:YAG laser system uses cold ablation, making the procedure exceptionally safe and gentle. Instead of treating the skin over a large area, the BURANE® laser delivers numerous microscopically small treatment pulses, allowing for highly controlled skin removal without causing thermal damage to the surrounding healthy tissue. This approach minimises pain and promotes faster, improved wound healing, as it avoids creating large wound areas.

The BURANE® laser effectively treats warts, moles, (actinic) keratoses, and xanthelasma. It is also an excellent solution for reducing scars, acne scars, and wrinkles. What happens during treatment with BURANE®?

For laser treatment, the skin in the areas we are targeting must be clean and free of cosmetics. We typically apply a topical or locally injected anaesthetic before the treatment to numb the relevant skin areas and ensure a painless experience. Once prepared, we use the BURANE® laser.

After the session, you should keep the treated areas dry and cover them with a plaster. Aftercare should include regularly applying an antiseptic cream. Avoid sunlight and tanning beds until the wound has fully healed. You should also use sun protection on the treated skin area at all times for the best results.
