Vein, vein, go away – and don’t come back another day!

Get rid of unsightly veins

Vascular changes can cause visible red veins, and heavily pigmented areas of skin often become widespread and can have a negative aesthetic impact. In some cases, these skin changes can even significantly impair the quality of life of those affected, especially if the changes are on the face. There are various cosmetic and medical treatments that are supposed to provide relief, but many of them are ineffective, not precise enough or too painful. However, there is now a single, cutting-edge solution to all of these problems: the IDAS™ laser.

Precision laser treatment

The vascular changes that cause a red appearance are known as vascular lesions. They are enlarged blood vessels in the skin, and the extent of the enlargement can vary. Conditions that fall into this category include rosacea, telangiectasia, haemangiomas and angiomas, and nevi. IDAS™ laser treatment can quickly and safely cauterise these skin problems on the face or body in a targeted manner, removing them permanently. The IDAS™ system can also precisely remove other benign lesions such as small skin tags. Depending on the indication, an average of one to three sessions every four weeks are required to achieve the desired results.

A particularly gentle, pain-free technique

The IDAS™ laser treatment uses pure green light with a wavelength of 532 nm. Patients find it very comfortable and practically painless. Often, all you feel is a tiny pricking sensation that doesn’t cause any discomfort. In addition, the process doesn’t require any additional sprays or chemicals. After treatment, the skin is usually slightly red for about a day. However, patients can still go about their normal activities straight after treatment and the recovery time is relatively short. The final results are excellent and long-lasting.

SK Aesthetics’ recommendation

Our recommendations for IDAS™ laser treatment:

  • Let us know which areas are causing you particular concern. This will allow us to target them even more effectively during treatment.
  • On the day of the treatment, you should not apply any skincare products, not even sunscreen. If you normally use peels, vitamin A products, or anything similar, you should stop using them for three to four weeks prior to the treatment to be on the safe side. However, you should cleanse your skin before the treatment.
  • Let us know about any medications or dietary supplements you are taking that could be problematic – some supplements make the skin more sensitive to light (e.g. St John’s wort).
  • After the treatment, be careful about taking hot baths or showers, using saunas and doing exercise. These activities dilate the veins and should therefore be avoided for a few days.
  • Use a high level of sun protection after the treatment, even on days that aren’t sunny.

We will be happy to provide you with comprehensive information and advice about all aspects of this treatment and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Comparison with IPL treatment

One alternative to IDAS™ laser treatment is IPL treatment. IPL treatment is a light-based treatment that uses pulsed light. The device creates intense bursts of light that incorporate many different wavelengths. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is used in dermatology and aesthetic medicine to treat various skin problems. The IDAS™ laser is better suited for treating some skin problems and types, while IPL treatment is better suited for others. We will be happy to provide you with detailed, personalised advice and recommend the treatment that will achieve the best results for you.

Did you know?

The IDAS™ KTP laser is a non-ablative laser. This means that it does not damage the skin during treatment. By contrast, ablative lasers remove the top layer of the skin. They are often used in anti-ageing treatments, for instance.
